Advanced Echocardiography

Cardiology Associates utilizes the most advanced technology to acquire and interpret cardiac ultrasound images (echocardiograms). The group owns and operates two Vivid 7 Dimension machines manufactured and maintained by GE Healthcare.

These are machines that bring research-level imaging capabilities to everyday clinical practice. This equipment allows for acquisition of superb cardiac ultrasound images to assess cardiac structure and function. They incorporate doppler capabilities to study blood flow characteristics and include advanced Tissue Doppler technology to assess subtle abnormalities of heart function, for more accurate diagnosis and to guide appropriate use of the latest therapeutic modalities, such as the use of bi-ventricular pacemakers for the treatment of selected patients with heart failure.

These digital machines interface with EchoPAC PC, a complete information management network solution for acquiring, storing and managing digital ultrasound data.

The cardiac images are acquired by a certified cardiac ultrasonographer, employed full-time by the practice, and interpreted by the patient’s cardiologist.
